A Tribute by batch-mates
Prakash VS (Roll no 2265, 92 batch, Prasad house) sadly passed away on 11th April 2021, leaving behind his wife, 2 young daughters and scores of his grieving friends and batch-mates. VS, as he was fondly called, was a hockey player par excellence (awarded the ‘School Blue’ in ’92 ) and captained the school hockey team. He served with the IAF till 2012 when his hitherto unknown health issues surfaced and forced a premature retirement. He was to join as a commissioned officer in the armed forces (through CDS), but unfortunately became medically unfit.  He was always full of life and joy despite the cards dealt to him by fate. Sadly, he succumbed to the master and left us on 11th April .His spirit and memories live on and burn bright in our heavy hearts and minds. Rest In Peace, VS.

You are sorely missed.

I first heard about Prakash's health issues in 1998 when Salil MP (2283) told about his sad tale of events (he was selected to armed forces as an offr, but it was during his medicals during the selection he was detected with renal failure). He was serving in the IAF then. Took premature retirement due to health issues and was leading a quite life. An excellent player in hockey and was awarded 'School Blue', a rare achievement. in boxing, he was known for his grit and determination. Scored an upset victory over Paul Davis in 1991 in Boxing.
