The Old Boys’ Association of Sainik School Kazhakootam

The Old Boys’ Association of Sainik School Kazhakootam ( OBASSKZM) is arguably the oldest organized alumni association of Kerala, formed in 1969 (the exact date is unfortunately not recorded), under the guidance of Sri N Balakrishnan Nair – NBN Sir to the Kazhak legion. The first meeting was at the cadets’ Mess where the late PC Satish Chandran ( Roll no 77 / Class of 1967) was nominated the first Secretary of the OBA.

The objectives for which the association is established are :

  • To create, foster and maintain union, friendship and fellowship among the former students of the Sainik School, Kazhakootam, Trivandrum.
  • To maintain links between the Old Boys and the School and to perpetuate their interest in their Alma Mater.
  • To provide inspiration and guidance to the students of the School, through the experiences and achievements of the Old Boys.
  • To enlist the interest and support of the Old Boys in the improvement and development of the School.
  • To institute Scholarships and awards and to promote any other object of general interest and usefulness.

With an alumni base of 4000+ cadets ( fondly referred as Kazhaks), with Chapter meets across all the metrocities of India and international clusters specifically in the Middle East & USA, the OBA has traditionally been the finest living example of that classic adage, “All for One, One for All” in all respects. The OBA’s mission is to support the overall advancement of our alma mater by engaging all alumni for life, building a culture of philanthropy among the Alumni fraternity and being the representative voice for all SSKZM alumni.
